Now that the Trilogy is on Epic Games, maybe more people will be willing to give the remaster a go. With Grand Theft Auto 6 still in development but no word on when it will come out, gamers have been waiting a long time for a follow-up to the enormously successful fifth entry. While the developer has made progress in terms of fixing major bugs, fans are still understandably hesitant about purchasing the remaster. It was considered by many to be one of the worst games of 2021. Unfortunately, the initial release was plagued with a laundry list of glitches that caused an outcry in the community. So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. For those who are out of the loop, the GTA Trilogy is a remastering of the beloved early-2000s Grand Theft Auto games, which aimed to bring these classics into the modern era with improved graphics and lighting. Earlier this year, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick (Take-Two is Rockstar’s parent company) mentioned to VGC that the company’s strategy was that remakes/remasters should never be a simple porting job: “We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on. This remake has been rumored to be happening for quite some time, most recently with a rating for the trilogy popping up in South Korea. ![]() The trilogy will be released on PC via the Rockstar Games Launcher. According to Rockstar, the games will be launching for just about every platform, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
